Getting started
The starting point for any undertaking is the documentation. For a quick overview of the Panlab architecture and the different concepts and components please start at
Panlab offering
More details are available in the project deliverables. Best starting point before deploying any software are the following documents:
Technical Infrastructure Specification
Interoperability Framework
Specification of the Network Agnostic Environments
Mechanisms for network agnostic service mapping - Resource Adaptor Operators
Testbed Service Description Specification
Testbed Orchestration System Specification
Feel free to browse all
other documents as well. You will discover implementation reports as well.
The top level link to the Panlab software points to the
Panlab SVN.
For resource owners
Panlab Testbed Manager and Resource Adaptation Layer
Resource owners need to deploy a Panlab Testbed Manager (PTM) at their domain border. The main documentation for installing and deploying a PTM is available
here and includes the Resource Adaptation Layer (RAL). Note that some links to downloadable components of the PTM may not work. In this case download directly from the
software SVN repository. Your PTM needs to be registered with Teagle (see below) or it can you your own local Teagle.
Publishing resources to the Panlab Teagle
The next step in deployment is the description and registration of your resources in the Teagle repository. For doing that you need to register first at the
Teagle Portal. Via this portal you can then register and control your resources, your registered PTMs and your configured VCTs (Virtual Customer Testbed).
Using the VCT tool
If you do not plan to deploy your own Teagle then you can start using the VCT tool to design your Virtual Customer Testbed. The VCT tool is available to you after you created an account at the Teagle Portal.
