1st Workshop on IMS Enabled Converged Networks

On 24 - 25 September 2007, the "1st Workshop on IMS Enabled Converged Networks - IP Multimedia Subsystem: Present & Future" takes place in Patras, Greece, organised by the EU projects undefinedVITAL and Panlab.

The purpose of this workshop is to openly discuss the present and future of IMS as an enabling technology for converged networks. This workshop aspires to answer the key question, whether IMS is really the solution for true convergence and seamless communication.

To address the aforementioned issues, the two-day programme consists of keynotes and a panel discussion with invited speakers from industry and academia.

During the second workshop day, a series of live demonstrations will be delivered by the participants of the two projects, showing capabilities of testbeds that involve IMS-related scenarios followed by an open discussion. This will give participants the chance for a hands-on experience with IMS.

The workshop is targeted at service architects and product managers responsible for deploying new services over converged networks. Technical issues will be covered at a level that will support strategic decisions.
