27-29 September Torino, Italy, Call for Contributions for NEM Summit 2011
As you have been already informed 4th edition of the NEM Summit - NEM Summit 2011 "Implementing Future Media Internet " - will be held in Torino, Italy, on 27-29 September 2011. The NEM Summit is an annual Conference and Exhibition organised by the NEM Initiative under the aegis of the European Commission (DG Information Society and Media). Main local support for NEM Summit 2011 is ensured by Telecom Italia and Politecnico di Torino.
There are several opportunities to contribute to the Summit programme:
- by submitting papers which will be presented at the Summit and included in its proceedings,
- by proposing demonstration of research results to be included in the Summit exhibition,
- by participating in NEM art and design contest, and
- by sponsoring the NEM Summit 2011

Call for Papers
NEM Summit 2011 will have four Tracks:
- Immersive and Pervasive Media
- Cloud Media
- Social Media
- User Media
Paper submission deadline is on 09 June 2011, notification of acceptance on 1 July 2011, and deadline for final papers is on 1 September 2011.
All stakeholders of networked and electronic media are invited to submit scientific, technical as well as business-oriented papers addressing topics defined within NEM Summit Tracks descriptions below. The submissions should present original work, innovative ideas, and results, including description of on-going activities and development of related products, services, and applications for increasing the competitiveness.

The submitted papers will be subject to peer review by members of the NEM Summit 2011 Programme Committee. The papers selected for the NEM Summit 2001 programme will be published in the Summit Proceedings where all further rights will remain with the authors. Extended versions of papers of special merit will be considered for possible fast track publication in the Computer Communications Journal of Elsevier.
Call for Exhibitions
In addition to the conference, for which all stakeholders of the networked and electronic media sector are invited to submit scientific, technical or business-oriented papers, the NEM Summit is also pleased to include the exhibition of research results and demonstrations from projects. The 2011 NEM Summit offers the opportunity to exhibit free of charge to R&D projects funded under the FP7 programmes of the European Commission (or other related programmes), addressing network and electronic media technologies and ICT at large are offered.
For this purpose, a call for exhibition has been launched, which is open until 20 June 2011. Notification of acceptance will be given by 1 July 2011. More information is available on the NEM Summit (http://nem-summit.eu/) and NEM Initiative (www.nem-initiative.org) websites.
Call for innovative media content representing NEM mission
In the scope of NEM art & design contest, we are looking for innovative contents making the most of today’s available NEM technologies (at the crossroad of multimedia and networking technologies), illustrating how life and business benefit from these technologies, inspiring new applications for tomorrow, or just fresh and fun to discover! Are you a technology geek, an artist, a pair of artists and technologists, a graphical designer, or just someone interested by 3D and virtual worlds, by the Internet and other communications networks, by music and images? This contest is for you!
Submit or illustrate your creation through a video, a flash illustrator or any other animated virtual/real content, a picture and text until 15 May 2011. You will be informed before 30 June 2011 if the NEM jury accepts your creation. In this case, it will be highlighted on the NEM Initiative and NEM Summit websites and will be displayed in the exhibition area of the NEM Summit, where a budget of 5000€ will be devoted to Awards.
