Call for participation

The 2nd International Conference on MOBILe Wireless MiddleWARE, Operating Systems, and Applications

After the success of the first edition in Innsbruck, Austria, the second edition of Mobilware is expected to be even more interesting, valuable, and fruitful for its participants, with the addition of workshops and tutorials. The first day (April 27) will be devoted to 4 workshops and 2 tutorials selected after a rigorous review process. Two pre-conference tutorials will be presented, one on standards for delivering IPTV services in managed environments and one on the theory and practice of porting mobile applications. After that, the main conference will be organized over two full days (April 28 and 29), bringing together researchers from across the world to present and discuss the latest in academic/industrial results in middleware and software support for mobile services over next generation wireless networks and portable devices. The main conference program consists of 30 high-quality papers from 13 nations. These will be presented in 8 technical sessions, with comfortable space for questions from the audience, addressing:

  • Location and Tracking Supports and Services
  • Context-aware Mobile Supports and Services (2)
  • Middleware for QoS Awareness, Adaptation, and Fault-tolerance of Mobile Services
  • Mobility-aware Service Discovery, Management, and Delivery
  • Middleware for Mobile Computing & Agent Technologies for Mobile Services
  • OS/Middleware for Embedded Systems, Wearable and Personal Area Networks
  • Mobility/Handoff Management in Heterogeneous Networks

In addition, Mobilware is honored to host 2 excellent keynote speeches:

  1. "The Footprint of European R&D Programmes on Future Internet Developments", Franco Accordino, Scientific Officer, European Commission's Information Society and Media Directorate-General
  2. "Application Development Platforms for Emerging Smart Environments", Petri Liuha, Director of Computing Architectures Laboratory at Nokia, Finland

Moreover, on April 27, Mobilware will be also the site for 4 focused workshops:

  • UCPA 2009, Workshop on User-Centric Pervasive Adaptation
  • Ubi-Islands 2009, Workshop on Interconnecting Ubiquitous Islands using Mobile and Next Generation Networks
  • BMMP 2009, Workshop on Business Models for New Mobile Platforms
  • WASP 2009, Workshop on Wireless Sensor Networks Architectures, Simulation, and Programming
